Master Key Systems

A master key system is the most elegant solution to the access control problem in any building with multiple units or departments. Instead of carrying a ring of keys or issuing full building access to everyone, a properly designed master key hierarchy assigns each person a sub-master or change key that opens only their specific doors, while management retains a single master key that operates every lock in the system.

Locksmith Luz designs master key systems for California apartment buildings, office parks, schools, healthcare facilities, and retail centers. We start by mapping your access requirements: who needs to open what, which doors require grand master access, and whether any doors need to remain off the master system entirely. We then specify the hardware and key blanks, pin the cylinders to the exact specification, and produce the key set at our shop.

Every master key system we create is fully documented and registered to the building owner. Copies of master keys and grand master keys can only be produced through Locksmith Luz using the registered key card, preventing unauthorized key duplication. We also provide expansion instructions so new locks can be added to the system as the building grows.
